First Day of Pre-K

I have been a stay at home mom for three and a half years. Needless to say we may have a small case separation anxiety. My health has also taken a downward spiral so we felt it the best to enroll her in Pre-K3. Oh the emotional rollercoaster this has been. So I figured I would write a little blog with a few tips from my experience. Have all your documents ready birth certificate, social security, driver’s license, insurance information, doctor’s information. Make copies of everything. Cut fruit and have snacks ready. We were used to sleeping in until 8 and that makes 6:30 come real early and a child that is not a morning person makes that just a bit more hectic. Schedule some activities for yourself to keep your mind occupied! Although my daughter only attends school from 8-12 it is a really long time. (I hear that is short lived) Also the first day is usually smooth sailing everything is new and exciting the second day was a tear jerker! The mommy screams and me crying in the hallway were unexpected. The excitement of the first day equates with mommy being away on the second day. Hopefully you will be blessed with a compassionate teacher as we did. I received a phone call within minutes than the end I know my daughter is in good hands and this will be great for the both of us
p.s. This day concludes with lots of hugs and snuggles.
